Mission

Our mission is to foster a flourishing world through deep care for the Earth and the human soul. We support grassroots ecological regeneration, soul-centered healing modalities, and spiritual practices dedicated to wisdom and compassion.

Vision

We envision…

  • A world committed to shared awakening of minds and hearts, where the cultivation of wisdom and compassion are seen as the foundations of a flourishing life. Our human family prioritizes contemplative practices as the path to attaining deep fulfillment, joy, and meaning from within, through nurturing stillness of mind and steadiness of heart.
  • A world in which the healing of body, mind, and soul is seen as intrinsic to flourishing. In this vision, healing is seen as a journey of restoring wholeness—through practices that release trauma, nurture resilience, and foster connection with community and the earth.
  • A society that centers the soul. Communities embrace storytelling, music, and shared practices that bring them into intimacy with their inner lives and the greater cycles of nature. At the heart of society are rituals and ceremonies that weave individuals into the sacred web of life, through connection with their deepest human emotions of grief and joy, with their ancestors, with the Earth, and with each other.
  • A world where humans acknowledge the Earth as a living, sentient being and live in deep reciprocity with the natural world. Through acts of care, stewardship, and gratitude, humanity participates in the cycles of giving and renewal that sustain life. A world where humans live as stewards of the Earth, practicing regenerative agriculture, sustainable energy use, and symbiotic relationships, ensuring the planet’s health for future generations.

About Our Name

The name Līlā (ली ला ‘lee-lah’) is a Sanskrit word meaning divine play – a reminder that life, in all its heartbreak and beauty, is part of something vast, mysterious, and sacred. In the face of suffering that can feel overwhelming and insurmountable, Līlā invites us to engage deeply with Life’s pain while holding it lightly, embracing reality with an open heart and fierce compassion.

Our approach is rooted in this paradox: we devote ourselves wholeheartedly to healing and regeneration, while knowing that suffering will always exist. The dance of Lila teaches us to move fluidly between these perspectives – to take action in the material world where choices matter, while also resting in the larger unfolding of Life as it is, where even despair belongs.
